About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our team at Proofpoint. As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will play a critical role in managing the company's daily tax operations, ensuring compliance with all forms of tax regulations, and providing expert advice on tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with annual federal and state income tax compliance engagement with the assistance of third-party consultants.
  • Assist with the completion of global income tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly sales and indirect tax processes and help manage sales tax compliance engagement with third-party consultants.
  • Assist with completion of other tax-related filings such as business property tax, gross receipts filings, and annual reports.
  • Understand Proofpoint products and monitoring transactions to identify potential areas of tax risk or tax opportunity.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives (e.g. R&D Studies, refund opportunities, census, and due diligence on potential acquisitions) as assigned.
  • Assist with responding to notices from the IRS and state taxing authorities.
  • Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA license is preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in either public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • Experience working on corporate multinational companies.
  • Detailed understanding of corporate income tax compliance and accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Must be meticulous, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and with across functional teams.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Have the ability to be flexible while working with time constraints and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects.
