Job Title: Inpatient Medical Coder

Location: Onsite at TEEMA Group, with remote possibility for the right candidate.

Estimated Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on industry standards and location in Texas.

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team for a 3-month contract with the option to extend. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in inpatient medical coding, with a specific focus on day surgery, observation, and injection and infusion procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing patient medical records to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes according to ICD-10-CM and CPT guidelines.
  • Ensuring coding compliance with federal regulations and hospital policies.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers and other staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Meeting productivity and accuracy standards set by the department.
  • Participating in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of inpatient medical coding experience.
  • Proficiency in assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes.
  • Experience with day surgery, observation, and injection and infusion coding required.
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must be located in Texas; onsite work preferred.
