Process Engineer

A Process Engineer at Samuel Engineering will provide process development and engineering design expertise for mining and mineral projects. This role requires advanced knowledge and specialized training to develop systems and unit operations in accordance with contractual obligations and relevant codes and standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Discipline Leads, Principals, Project Manager, and Engineering Manager to achieve these requirements. The work is closely managed and reviewed for accuracy and adequacy. The Process Engineer will follow specific, outlined, and detailed directions and provide resolution to problems that are readily identifiable with limited scope and are resolved in accordance with standard practices, procedures, applications, or routines. The problem/task resolution timeframe is typically one to two days. The primary contacts for this role are direct supervisors and others in the group or department to give and receive information.
Key Responsibilities
• Works closely with a member of the team to enhance knowledge and skillset.
• Learns and implements the Company's Best Practices for projects and processes.
• Assist on simple process engineer concepts with oversight from a mentor.
• Works closely with a member of the team and assists to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Implements and utilizes the Company's Best Practices for projects and processes.
• Working knowledge of process engineering design and development.
• Assist in testwork design and oversight and data analysis/interpretation.
• Development of process flow diagrams including mass balances.
• Development of models needed to assist for type of work on Client project.
• Development of process design criteria.
• Assist in preparation of capital cost estimates.
• Coordination with Project Engineering Department and other engineering disciplines.
• Preparation of studies and reports, including certification as a Qualified Person (QP).
• Performing advanced design, computations, and evaluations associated with oil and gas, distribution, and planning projects.
• Performing project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Engineer Intern - Education = Junior or Senior in University/College
• Engineer IV - Education = Bachelor's
• Engineer III - Education = Bachelor's; Experience = 2 years
• Engineer II - Education = Bachelor's; Experience = 4 years
• Engineer I - Education = Bachelor's; Experience = 6 years; Licensure = FE or 8 years experience
