Job Description

Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at New Charter Technologies. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of our full-cycle accounting process, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and engaging in special projects throughout the month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Own the full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities by ensuring transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries for all accounting-related activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, intercompany, and month-end accruals.
  • Account Reconciliations: Reconcile the general ledger accounts in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures.
  • Variance Analysis: Work with the Accounting Manager and Controller to research and explain variances to forecast and budget.
  • GAAP Compliance: Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Process Improvements: Drive process improvements and lead exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Year-End Audit: Support with year-end audit and schedule requests from external auditors.
  • M&A Projects: Support management with M&A-related projects.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Skills: Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end closing process, and variance analysis. Solid understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply the concepts to specific situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate-level skills in Excel to perform analysis using pivot and lookup tables. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/NetSuite/QuickBooks experience a must.
  • Personal Qualities: Positive demeanor, collaborative, and solution-oriented. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a team-based environment. Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with senior and executive leaders.
