Position Overview:

The Custodian 2 role is a classified position focused on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in designated athletic facilities. This position is integral to ensuring a welcoming environment for all facility users.

Work Schedule:

The standard working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive housekeeping tasks in athletic facilities, including vacuuming, carpet cleaning, dusting, and polishing furniture.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, window sills, and floors through mopping and waxing.
  • Sanitize restrooms and locker rooms to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness of common areas, including water fountains and elevator doors, using appropriate cleaning products.
  • Regularly remove litter from both inside and outside the facilities.
  • Complete additional related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should possess at least six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, or food service roles.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of navigating a large facility multiple times a day, standing for extended periods, and performing physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, and lifting furniture weighing between 20 to 40 lbs. Familiarity with operating cleaning equipment is essential.

Additional Information:

This position is considered essential, and employees may be required to report to work during emergencies or campus closures. A pre-employment physical examination will be necessary due to the physical demands of the role.
