Job Summary

Snelling - Birmingham is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join their team at a Fortune 500 steel mill. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining all equipment in the plant, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including AC/DC motor controls, PLC, and high-voltage systems.
  • Daily Maintenance: Inspect and perform routine maintenance on shop machinery, mobile equipment, HVAC systems, and cranes.
  • System Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnostic Equipment: Use digital voltmeters, paper recorders, multi-volt meters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic tools to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Documentation: Utilize SAP maintenance module to document maintenance activities, track time, and record corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • AC/DC Troubleshooting: Proven experience in AC/DC troubleshooting is required.
  • Electrical Controls: Proficiency in electrical controls maintenance and repair is essential.
  • Process Knowledge: Knowledge of the melting, casting, and rolling process and related equipment is preferred.
  • MRO System: Experience with MRO systems, including SAP, is preferred.
  • Electrical Schematics: Ability to understand electrical and electronic schematics is required.
  • PLC Troubleshooting: Experience with Siemens and/or other PLC troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Maintenance Principles: Demonstrated experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance principles, concepts, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • NFPA 70E: Familiarity with NFPA 70E requirements is preferred.
  • Rotating Shifts: Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
