McFarlane's is seeking a highly skilled Over-the-Road Trucking Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting freight across state lines in a safe and timely manner.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an OTR truck driver with McFarlane's. As an OTR driver, you will have the freedom to explore different parts of the country while earning a competitive salary.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate commercial motor vehicles to transport freight in inter- or intra-state commerce between terminals and relay stations or from home terminal to distant points and returns.
  • Inspect vehicles and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure and incrementally throughout the trip.
  • Check shipping papers to determine the nature of the load and any special hazards, and check the load itself and methods of securing it.
  • Operate vehicles in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving.
  • Deliver freight to consignees, including oversized loads with specific permit instructions, using common sense and consideration to unique job sites and related constraints.
  • Pick up freight as required.
  • Load and unload freight as required.
  • Collect freight charges as instructed per McFarlane's Retail Service Center.
  • Chaining, strapping, and tarping loads as needed.
  • Perform other related work as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Class A CDL with a minimum 1-year continuous current driving record.
  • Verifiable previous 3-years driving employment history with a clean MVR.
  • Ability to meet DOT 49 CFR 391.41 Requirements/Qualifications.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $85,000 per year
