Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead Specialist to join our team.

The Quality Assurance Lead Specialist will play a pivotal role in guiding daily operations related to Quality Assurance, Raw Material oversight, and Safety initiatives. This position emphasizes leadership within our laboratory teams, focusing on Brewing, Microbiology, and Packaging Quality Assurance, while also driving improvement projects and effective communication. Problem-solving and Continuous Improvement will be essential to the success of this role, particularly concerning Brewing Tank Releases and Packaging Quality Management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the activities of our three laboratories (packaging, chemistry, and microbiology) during the designated shift, ensuring compliance with quality standards and protocols.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the team, ensuring accountability and a seamless workflow.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-oriented environment, striving to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Report any production or personnel issues to management for resolution.
  • Provide mentorship, performance feedback, and corrective measures for laboratory technicians.
  • Assist in the training of technicians on the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for team or individual development.
  • Encourage collaboration and continuous improvement through positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues through various channels.
  • Participate in meetings and facilitate Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) as necessary.
  • Regularly review and update Quality Assurance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), communicating changes effectively.
  • Develop SOPs for new processes and collaborate with the Training Department for enhancements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in auditing Critical Points (CPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs), tracking audits, and validating processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Reports (QARs) and Defective Product Material Reports (DPMRs), confirming materials meet established specifications.
  • Support the transition of new products into production.
Physical Requirements:

• All production roles require passing a pre-employment physical examination.

• Some positions may necessitate the use of a respirator and successful completion of a fit test.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally on a repetitive basis.

• Regularly required to walk and stand for extended periods (up to 11 hours) on various surfaces.

• Responsibilities may involve crouching, climbing, bending, twisting, and reaching overhead throughout the day.

• Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection, and hard hat).

• Established dexterity to handle materials, operate equipment, and interact with computer systems accurately.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production or laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through work or related activities.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) through practical experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality analysis tools.
  • Understanding of basic laboratory and production safety protocols.
  • Proven skills in Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role.
