Job SummaryThe Staff Support Specialist will work closely with the STEP UP after-school program team to enhance the competencies of all line staff. This role involves designing and conducting training that will boost employees' workplace performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training and development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct training needs assessments to identify areas for improvement
- Design and deliver training modules, learning materials, and other support resources
- Manage all phases of staff support, including new hire training and ongoing development
- Collaborate with agency coordinators to create support plans for staff
- Periodically evaluate training and make necessary adjustments
- Stay up-to-date on new trends and tools in employee development
- Communicate with partner agencies regarding potential staff issues and concerns
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent and relevant experience
- 48 semester college units or successful completion of the Paraeducator exam
- TB test clearance and DOJ/FBI criminal background check
- Punctuality and reliability
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Experience working with youth and general knowledge base of core elementary subjects
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- First aid and CPR Certification
- Sexual Harassment Training Certificate
- Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
This role will be based at a school site during after-school hours. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
