About the Position

The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time position of Assistant Professor of Psychology, with a preference for Neuropsychology, Cognitive Psychology, or related field of specialization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of psychology courses, including Foundations of Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Addictive and Compulsive Behavior, Psychological Disorders and Mental Health, and others. There is also an opportunity for the selected candidate to develop new courses that align with their area of specialization.

The standard teaching load for faculty at MSOE is 4 courses per semester. The selected candidate will also be expected to engage in scholarship and contribute service to the institution and their profession.

MSOE utilizes long-term contracts for full-time faculty and provides opportunity for rank advancement. MSOE expects, supports, and rewards a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Psychology
  • A strong record of undergraduate teaching experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with students and faculty from other departments
About the Department

The HSC department holds a unique position in an applications-oriented institution which allows faculty the opportunity to design and teach a variety of courses across disciplines. The department is a collegial environment with faculty in psychology, history, literature, Spanish, German, philosophy, user experience, and communication.

Our offices are housed in the Grohmann Museum, which displays a collection of industrial art created from 1580 to the present.
