Job Summary

The City of Marietta, GA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and protecting the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Respond to Calls: Patrol assigned areas to control traffic, prevent crime, and respond to emergency calls.
  • Enforce Laws and Regulations: Enforce state and local laws by arresting violators who commit misdemeanors and felonies.
  • Investigate Incidents: Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
  • Provide Emergency Services: Respond to emergency calls, provide first aid, and call for backup as needed.
  • Collaborate with Other Agencies: Work with other law enforcement agencies to share information and coordinate efforts.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Age and Citizenship: Must be at least 19 3/4 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
  • Language Skills: Must be fluent in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Certifications: Must obtain a Georgia Peace Officer Standard Training certification (POST) and maintain certification annually.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to pass a standard physical fitness exam and medical exam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree: Preferred qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Law Enforcement Experience: Prior law enforcement experience is preferred.
