Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and resources to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support and Intervention
- Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students, fostering an environment conducive to their well-being and academic success.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify students' unique needs, develop targeted intervention plans, and monitor progress over time.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and fellow educational professionals to devise and implement effective strategies that promote students' overall welfare and educational attainment.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
- Program Development and Implementation
- Organize and facilitate group sessions, workshops, and presentations covering a range of topics, including bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and mental health awareness, to foster a supportive and inclusive school community.
- Develop and implement programs to promote student well-being, academic achievement, and social-emotional growth.
- Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintain meticulous and confidential records of student interactions, progress notes, and case documentation in adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Prepare and submit reports to administrators and other stakeholders as required.
- Education and Certification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (School-Based preferred)
- Educational Endorsement through the Department of Education (DOE)
- Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in a school setting, preferably as a School Social Worker
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, teachers, and parents
