Key Responsibilities

Safety First: Actively engage in fostering a culture of safety throughout the operation, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan standards at all times.

Maintenance and Repair: Conduct servicing, repairs, adjustments, and testing of all mobile machinery operating within the facility to enhance performance and minimize downtime.

Equipment Inspection: Carry out thorough inspections of all mobile equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. Execute repairs as necessary to resolve identified problems.

Material Handling: Safely manage, install, position, and transport parts, materials, and industrial hand tools throughout the workshop and facility.

Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment. Maintain service reports in both written and electronic formats.

Operational Support: Assist in operating heavy machinery and vehicles within the facility as needed to ensure efficient production processes.

Physical Demands: Engage in physical activities requiring full body movement and significant use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

Experience: Prior experience with diesel or heavy construction machinery is preferred.

Knowledge Base: Familiarity with the fundamental principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is advantageous.

Adaptability: Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on operational demands. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to high noise levels.

Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of industrial tools, their applications, and maintenance is required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation for experienced candidates will align with the union contract salary scale, ranging from $35.00 to $44.00 per hour.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
  • This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
