Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide medical care and support to students in a school setting. This role requires a strong understanding of nursing principles and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized medical care to students, including administering medications and treatments
  • Assist with daily routine health care, including monitoring medical needs and providing educational supports
  • Manage the school's Health Services Office, maintaining confidentiality and reporting students with repeated symptoms or incidents of communicable disease
  • Accurately complete and maintain records, including services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Attend required district, building, or nursing meetings and trainings
Requirements
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Preferred: Current CPR certification, minimum of two years nursing experience, experience working with students with multiple handicaps, and clerical and computer experience
Working Conditions

Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. This role is classified as Light Work, exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
