Position Summary:
The Material Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of materials throughout the production process. This position is essential for ensuring that workstations are adequately supplied, which in turn enhances the overall productivity of the operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive, ship, load, and unload materials from various suppliers or carriers using appropriate equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections of incoming materials for compliance and report any discrepancies.
- Efficiently move materials from receiving areas to designated locations using barcode scanners and computer systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by counting, weighing, and documenting materials received or shipped.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols and ISO procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and operational goals.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally, with assistance for heavier items.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks.
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with inventory management processes.
- Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to tasks.
- Problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges.
