Surgical Technologist

As a Surgical Technologist at Tampa General Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical suites. Under the general supervision of medical and nursing staff, you will follow established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines to provide exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with surgical and endoscopy procedures, preparing and maintaining surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, and identifying and reporting situations requiring intervention to the RN or Clinician. Additionally, you will serve as a clinical preceptor for new OR scrub tech and OR technician students, and as a resource person in at least five surgical specialty areas. Qualifications
- • Graduate of Surgical Technologist training program
- • CST Certification from AST or NCCT, 5 years work experience
- • OR completion of a Hospital Based Surgical Tech Program with 10 years of ST experience and maintains current CST certification from AST or NCCT
- • OR 2 plus years required, 4 years preferred, if completed an associate degree
