Job Title: Overhead Catenary Design Specialist

STV is seeking a highly skilled Overhead Catenary Design Specialist to join our team in Philadelphia, PA or New York City, NY. As a key member of our Systems/Security team, you will be responsible for designing AC and DC Catenary systems for heavy rail, commuter, light rail, and streetcar systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Catenary plans and profile diagrams
  • Design Catenary support structures, including cantilevers, portals, and head spans
  • Develop OCS structure and wiring layout plans
  • Prepare structural erection diagrams and Catenary profiles
  • Ensure compliance with relevant code requirements for OCS design
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, such as traction power, track, signals, and communications
  • Support and direct Catenary engineering and drafting staff
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-7 years of experience in OCS/Catenary design
  • Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD/Microstation V8
  • Ability to design on screen in production of CAD drawings
  • EIT desired with a goal of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Knowledge of software for support structure analysis (STAAD, MathCAD) preferred
