About the Role

Adelbrook Inc is seeking an exceptional Occupational Therapy Department Leader to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) and floating occupational therapists in our learning centers and transitional academy.

Job Summary

This exempt position requires 40 hours of work per week, with some weekend and evening shifts. The successful candidate will report directly to the assigned Director of Education and work collaboratively with Directors of Education. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting occupational therapy screens and evaluations, interpreting evaluation information, and preparing written reports with recommendations.
  • Supervising and evaluating COTAs and floating occupational therapists to ensure safe, effective, and therapeutic occupational therapy treatment.
  • Designing and implementing individualized supervision plans for each COTA in accordance with American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) guidelines.
  • Meeting monthly with COTAs to review evaluation results, goals, objectives, and intervention plans for students.
  • Assessing the occupational therapy department for program development and making recommendations to supervisors.
  • Reviewing and editing all occupational therapy educational reports completed by COTAs.
  • Providing education and feedback on COTA documentation as required.
  • Attending and participating in educational meetings, including but not limited to, PPTs, certified staff meetings, and informal team meetings.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license with an excellent driving history.
  • Maintenance of CT licensure, NBCOT certification, personal malpractice insurance, and completion of agency-required training.
  • Experience supervising COTAs and OT students in the educational community, with a focus on youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Familiarity with AOTA guidelines and best practices in occupational therapy.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. Please note that we require health screenings, including a drug screen, as well as DCF, DMV, and criminal history checks, which will be conducted at the agency's expense.
