Truck Shop Mechanic

As a Truck Shop Mechanic at Pilgrim's, you will be responsible for maintaining diesel and gasoline powered equipment and trucks, all makes and models. Your primary focus will be on completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, and keeping records.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition
Complete preventive maintenance schedules, install component and part upgrades, and control corrosion
Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Contain costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options
Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications
Requirements
