At James Cancer Hospital, we are seeking a skilled Critical Care Travel Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses to work in a high-acuity setting, providing top-notch care to patients with complex medical needs.
As a Critical Care Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in our progressive care unit, which specializes in oncology and pediatric patients. Your expertise will be invaluable in managing the care of patients with high acuity levels, often requiring specialized interventions and treatments.
In this role, you can expect to encounter a variety of challenging cases, including those requiring heavy focus on infection prevention protocols, patient falls, and complex medication management. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, leveraging your knowledge and skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
To succeed in this position, you will need at least 2 years of experience in oncology, with a strong background in critical care nursing. You should be proficient in interpreting dysrhythmias, using rapid response teams, and managing various types of IV therapy, including heparin protocols and PCA. Your ability to titrate cardiac drips and manage chest tubes, as well as your experience with external CPAP/BIPAP and HFNC, will also be essential.
