Job Summary: Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our McKinney, Texas site. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of heavy trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Safety Inspections: Perform regular safety checks on vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent accidents.
  • Complete Maintenance Records: Accurately document maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair times using our fleet maintenance software.
  • Repair and Maintain Vehicles: Diagnose and repair complex issues with heavy trucks, including engines, transmissions, and brakes.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Ensure our workshop and equipment are clean, organized, and meet corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Communicate Effectively: Clearly convey repair needs and tasks to colleagues and management.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair, or completion of a diesel tech program.
  • Tools and Equipment: Must have own tools and be able to use them effectively.
