The Aquatic Safety Specialist plays a crucial role within the aquatic management team. Under the guidance of the Aquatics Manager, this position is accountable for overseeing daily aquatic operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, and upholding safety protocols.

Compensation: $16 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take charge of designated areas while monitoring guest safety.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the waterpark's operations, including all safety regulations related to attractions.
  • Promptly report any incidents, safety issues, or guest concerns to the Aquatics Leadership Team through the appropriate channels to prioritize guest safety.
  • Be well-prepared and confident in managing missing child alerts.
  • Fully understand all emergency procedures and safety standards, especially regarding guest interactions during emergencies.
  • Ensure cleanliness throughout the waterpark, including all public and staff areas such as the pool deck, offices, restrooms, and locker facilities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in accepting various roles as needed.
Position Requirements:
  • Maintain current certifications through mandatory monthly training sessions (4 hours per month).
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Meet all screening criteria set by Jeff Ellis and Associates to qualify for testing.
  • Successfully complete the Jeff Ellis and Associates Lifeguard course prior to employment.
  • Complete the Jeff Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Instructor Course before leading training sessions.
Job and Work Expectations:
  • Availability to work various shifts during the waterpark's operational hours, including on-call availability when necessary.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays with minimal requests for extended time off (any prior commitments should be communicated before starting).
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs or more.
  • Demonstrate swimming proficiency by swimming at least 50 yards continuously using breaststroke or crawl techniques.
  • Retrieve a 10 lbs. object from the deepest part of the pool.
  • Exit the pool without using a ladder.
