We are seeking highly skilled High Voltage Technicians to join our team at the National Security Agency. As a High Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating high voltage electrical systems, including main switchgear, relays, generators, and power panels.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain high voltage electrical systems, including main switchgear, relays, generators, and power panels.
- Perform emergency and supplemental power generation, primary and secondary electrical substations, overhead and underground power distribution, SCADA systems, digital and analog control systems, protective relaying equipment, and large scale UPS systems.
- Identify and analyze technical issues, reporting and documentation, and contribute to project status briefings.
- Articulate viewpoints and solutions to customers, peers, and supervisors in an effective manner.
- Completion of formal training in a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program is preferred and/or military experience in the Prime Power Production Specialist MOS with Instrumentation or Electrical Specialties.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstration of understanding of key principles of electrical power technology.
- Ability to work well in a rotating shift or fixed shift, fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Knowledge and experience in electrical safe work practices, electrical safe design, closed transition switching procedures, electrical inspections and procedures, electrical system and circuit troubleshooting, electrical system fault analyses, OSHA and other safety regulations, electrical operations and maintenance, construction technology/management, analysis, design, construction, national/local code compliance, and development of work plans, safety plans, job hazard analyses, and programs to comply with laws, regulations, and policies.
