Abacus Technology is in search of an Information Security Specialist to deliver comprehensive system, application, and personnel security assistance for the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate. This is a full-time opportunity.
Responsibilities- Assist in the system/application authorization and accreditation (A&A) process, which includes evaluating and guiding the quality and thoroughness of A&A activities, tasks, and resulting documentation as mandated by relevant policies.
- Advise on policies and procedures to ensure the reliability and accessibility of information systems while preventing and defending against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
- Perform risk and vulnerability assessments of proposed and existing information systems to identify weaknesses, risks, and necessary protections.
- Enhance awareness of security concerns among management and ensure that sound security principles are integrated into the organization's vision and objectives.
- Conduct evaluations, audits, and reviews of systems security.
- Propose systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery strategies.
- Design and implement programs to ensure that users of systems, networks, and data are informed of, understand, and comply with security policies and procedures.
- Engage in network and systems design to guarantee the application of appropriate security policies.
- Evaluate security incidents to assess impact and execute corrective measures.
- Ensure strict adherence to information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the provision of all IT services.
15+ years of experience in an IT capacity, with significant expertise in cyber security and a minimum of 5 years supporting government programs. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, though additional years of experience may substitute for degree requirements. CISSP certification is mandatory. Familiarity with DIACAP, Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and IA Controls is essential. Experience in application development/architecture, testing, and administration is preferred. Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Administration, scripting, and configuration techniques is necessary. Basic Linux knowledge, including Red Hat and Fedora, is advantageous. Networking experience with routers, switches, and firewalls is required, with familiarity in Cisco and Juniper technologies. Proficient desktop application administration experience, including Microsoft Office, web browsers, and anti-virus software, is expected. Candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of functioning in a multi-disciplinary environment with an adaptable personality. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting information assurance issues are required. Familiarity with EITDR and eMass is desired. The ability to apply extensive and diverse knowledge to problem-solving and make independent decisions is crucial. Candidates must be team-oriented and able to work professionally and collaboratively with government clients and other project team members. A current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI) is mandatory.
