DENTAL HYGIENIST ROLE OVERVIEW
The Dental Hygienist at Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry collaborates with our dental professionals to address the oral health needs of our patients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate the dental health and requirements of patients through comprehensive screening processes, including medical history and dental assessments.
- Provide direct patient care utilizing established dental hygiene protocols.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs.
- Conduct routine procedures such as teeth cleaning and polishing.
- Take necessary radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
- Apply preventive treatments like sealants and fluoride.
- Maintain electronic patient records accurately.
- Document patient dental histories and primary concerns.
- Educate patients on preventive measures for oral health.
- Ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Execute treatment plans as directed by the dentist.
- Communicate treatment plans and associated costs to patients.
- Act as the primary coordinator for patient treatment.
- Assist with additional duties as required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completed dental hygiene program or an Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene, along with a valid Hygienist license for North Carolina. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong independent thinking and sound judgment.
