About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team at Keystone Veterinary Emergency & Referral, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner. As a Lead Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of veterinary technicians in their daily tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Nursing Skills: Provide hands-on care for patients, including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, triage, surgery/anesthesia, radiology, laboratory procedures, and administration of medications.
  • Triage: Perform physical exams, accurately count vital signs, and obtain a history from pet owners.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of veterinary technicians in their performance of daily tasks, monitor staff productivity, and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Other Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of veterinary/lead experience required
  • Previous ER experience required
  • CVT preferred, but not required
  • Must be proficient in surgery/anesthesia (ASA4/5)
  • Highly communicative, compassionate, precise to detail, and able to work under pressure
  • In-depth knowledge of surgical equipment and sterile processes
  • Above-average time management skills
