Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Care Surveyor 3 Nursing to join our team at the New York State Department of Health. As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for conducting on-site surveys of residential health care facilities and adult day health care programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site surveys and investigations to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care and efficiency of operation
  • Prepare reports and write deficiencies based on findings
  • Participate in the investigations of complaints and provide meaningful recommendations to the Area Office Director
  • Review medical and other records to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care and efficiency of operation
  • Interpret and clarify policies, rules and regulations for staff and providers
Requirements
  • Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State
  • Three years of post-licensure, specialized professional administrative or professional clinical experience
  • Ability to lead and participate on an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent interview, observational, and writing skills
  • Ability to translate collected information into legally defensible reports

  • A competitive salary range of $90,464 to $101,197, plus an additional geographic pay differential of $20,000
