Travel Histotechnician

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at a prestigious teaching hospital.

As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex histologic procedures, including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry. You will also be responsible for quality control on completed slides, identifying problems that may affect diagnosis and results, and recording observations from tests.

• Conduct quality control on completed slides to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Identify problems that may affect diagnosis and results, and take corrective action as needed.
• Record observations from tests and maintain accurate records.
• Document maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab.

• 3-5 years of full-time experience in histotechnology.
• Embedding and Microtomy skills.
• BLS certification.
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC).
• QIHC preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology, or other related scientific discipline preferred.

This is a 13-week contract position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. The shift is nights, Sunday-Thursday, 11p-7:30a, with holiday rotation. The facility is a teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma designation.
