PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing essential maintenance tasks, executing structural repairs, and assisting skilled tradespeople with their daily responsibilities. This role requires practical expertise in various trades, including carpentry, painting, glazing, roofing, welding/fabricating, and signage. The position encompasses a range of duties such as repairing or replacing drywall, flooring, ceilings, windows, doors, and hardware. The ideal candidate should be self-driven, diligent, and eager to expand their skill set.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position necessitates practical skills and knowledge across multiple trade disciplines. Responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, or repair of general structural construction, framing, and the assembly of cabinets, stairs, or trim work. The role also involves the installation and repair of wall coverings, including drywall, paneling, vinyl Celotex, Masonite sheeting, veneer, curtains/drapes, rubber, and wood cove base. The specialist will coordinate tasks based on blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; perform standard computations related to various requirements; and utilize a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments. Additionally, the specialist will assist skilled tradespeople with their daily tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Must successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation.
  • Must be capable of performing all essential duties of the position satisfactorily.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
