Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Daniels Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic radiographic and computed tomography procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform diagnostic radiographic and computed tomography procedures on patients, according to provider/physician orders.
  • Perform proper x-ray exposure to aid in the diagnosis of fractures, diseases, and other injuries.
  • Operate computed tomography scanners and select appropriate scan protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients for x-ray or CT examinations and take the necessary images.
  • Process imaging plates, inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs to x-ray and CT equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the State Department of Health.
  • Prefer a minimum of one year of experience, but new graduates will be considered.
  • Preferred training and experience working as a radiographer and computed tomography technologist.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed and on call duty.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and families, radiology staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Essential Skills
  • Knowledge of radiographic examinations and procedures requiring contrast agents.
  • Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
  • Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to be independently mobile.
  • Ability to manage physically aggressive patients.
  • Ability to transport patients on a patient mobilizer or in a wheelchair.
  • Ability to move portable x-ray machines to examination sites.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance and perform tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear protective lead aprons and gloves during examinations.
Interrelationship Requirements
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
