Instructional Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Instructional Technologist to join our team at Hagerstown Community College. This role will be responsible for supporting the administration of our primary learning management system and related instructional technology.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional technology, with experience working with learning management systems, distance learning software, and other educational technologies. They will be able to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students, and provide top-notch support for all their needs.

In this role, you will serve as the official backup to the ITech Manager, providing support for the distance learning/LMS Help Desk and working with faculty to troubleshoot issues with course setup or changes. You will also assist with faculty onboarding, training, and support, including working with faculty to support recording and editing of video content and providing onboarding to the LMS and training for other e-learning tools.

You will work closely with the Dean of Academic Innovation and Instructional Technology, assisting with quality assurance, reporting, and special projects. This includes reviewing courses for minimum institutional standards and accessibility violations, and working with instructors to set up Inclusive Access textbook integrations.

As a Learning Platform Specialist, you will also serve as backup to the ITech Manager as the Maryland Online site coordinator. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders to support the Seatbank course exchange, and collaborate with external counterparts in the MOL consortium.

This is a high-stress position involving constant interaction with faculty, staff, students, and other entities regarding LMS administration and other instructional technology-related issues. Normal office environment with frequent job-related interruptions.
