Job Title: Staff Radar Electronics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Radar Electronics Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Radar Integration Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new and existing high-fidelity radar system performance models, complex algorithms, threat models, and command & control models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop mathematical algorithms for mode/sensor implementation
  • Develop software to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of sensors and other platforms
  • Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization
  • Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, flight test requirements verification, and sustainment
  • Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering "V"
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 14 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. in STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance (required to start)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) within a reasonable amount of time, prior to start
  • Experience with Signals processing and Radar systems
  • Experience with electronics systems performance analysis, test or integration
  • Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or related languages
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong desire to learn, take initiative and contribute in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
  • Demonstrated experience with Air-to-Air and/or Air-to-Ground modes
  • Demonstrated mathematical problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive technique
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience
  • An understanding of the physical limitations to implementing complex algorithms in real hardware
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance with current or previous Special Program Access (SAP)/SCI
