About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at the City and County of Broomfield. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance and enhancement of our Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and manage spatial data to ensure quality assurance and quality control of geographic data sets.
  • Support IT and GIS system operations, including data preparation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to prepare GIS data for reports, memorandums, and presentations.
  • Create and revise maps, and update GIS data and CAD data relative to assigned projects.
  • Assist with research and review of legal documents, as-builts, construction plans, digital maps, and other related information.
  • Update GIS datasets in an enterprise geodatabase.
  • Identify and resolve GIS data errors and conflicts using appropriate methods.
  • Utilize GPS and mobile GIS systems to collect data in the field and verify the accuracy of existing GIS data.
  • Perform semi-complex GIS analysis functions, such as spatial measurement, attribute query, vector overlay, and joining spatial data to non-spatial data.
  • Support the creation and updating of GIS documentation and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of GIS interfaces and provide products such as web map viewers and field map configurations for staff and public use.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geographical Sciences, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or other related field.
  • 2 years of experience as a GIS professional, including experience in computer mapping using the ESRI Suite of Products and experience in computer-aided drafting using the Autodesk Suite of Products.
  • GISP Certification and ITIL Foundation certification are preferred.
Working Conditions

The work environment is generally scheduled Monday through Friday, with some weekend and holiday work required. The work is performed at City/County work locations, with the ability to perform some duties remotely in accordance with Broomfield's remote work policy.
