Position Objective:

This role is crucial for overseeing and guiding a team of technicians tasked with the installation of electronic, hardware, and wiring components of audio-visual systems, primarily within the designated region, ensuring all financial, programmatic, and operational benchmarks are met.

The Lead AV Technician will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and be an integral part of the Operations team, contributing to the success of a premier sales and AV integration initiative.

As a seasoned member of a dynamic installation team, the Lead AV Technician will independently manage the coordination, receipt, inventory, assembly, and installation of AV equipment at various job sites, adhering to the company's policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices.

This position requires regional travel, with job sites varying across the designated metropolitan area and the eastern United States.


Key Responsibilities:

This role involves the independent coordination and supervision of teams responsible for the processes of receiving, inventorying, assembling, and installing AV equipment at job sites.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the actions of team members and executing installations independently.
  • Coordinating, scheduling, and directing one or more installation teams to ensure proper travel arrangements and accommodations.
  • Training and supervising junior technicians, assisting them in achieving higher certifications.
  • Handling and repositioning large equipment or wiring supplies, with the ability to lift and carry heavy objects unassisted.
  • Troubleshooting audio and video cabling issues.
  • Installing and terminating cables using appropriate connectors.
  • Drilling in various materials for the installation of AV equipment.
  • Installing electronic components into equipment racks according to wiring diagrams or verbal instructions.
  • Working in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 10 feet.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of team leadership and management experience.
  • CTS-I certification or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of employment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, often on short notice, with extended hours.
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug testing prior to employment.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in team direction.
  • Proficiency in standard office software, including Google, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with hand tools and industrial equipment.
  • Quick learner with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Friendly demeanor and approachability.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and complete safety training.

Supervisory Duties:
  • Coordinating and directing AV technician teams at job sites.
  • Managing travel and accommodation logistics for technician teams.
  • Maintaining relationships with customer contacts at various job sites.
