Job Title: Prep Cook

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team at Mia's Table. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and following recipe instructions.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, such as stoves, ovens, and grills, to cook and prepare food items according to Mia's Table recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the availability of all necessary ingredients, supplies, and equipment by overseeing inventory levels and communicating with the kitchen manager or managing partner.
  • Set up workstations with necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment to facilitate smooth and efficient food preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by regularly cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other kitchen staff members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred but not always required. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a restaurant setting.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Food Handlers Certification required.
