Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sub Assembly Technician to join our team at MPI. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for completing job orders by performing mechanical and electrical tasks required to achieve a finished product.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of MPI's lean culture and initiatives by participating in daily lean meetings and contributing to continuous improvements.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies and machines according to quality control assembly check lists.
  • Ensure proper component placement with appropriate sealant and torque as required.
  • Operate forklifts and hoist tables after completing MPI training.
  • Follow all Personal Protection Procedures and Requirements.
  • Comply with OSHA and MPI Safety Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
  • Understanding of electrical fundamentals and ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Mechanical experience in assembly or repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency with standard shop tools, hand and electric.
  • Moderate skill and ability to perform technical trouble shooting and diagnostics of mechanical and electrical components and control mechanisms.
  • Moderate computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and 1 year experience; or two to five years related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees of organizations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • MPI is a LEAN company and maintaining your work area and tools in a clean, safe, and organized manner is a requirement.
  • Assist and support lean manufacturing initiates within the department and other areas as requested.
  • Valid driver's license: checked and verified by MPI Insurance carrier before driving MPI vehicles.

Working Conditions
  • The employee is regularly required to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • The employee must occasionally lift 50 lbs. and/or move up to 1000 pounds with proper equipment.
  • The employee is required to pass a medical evaluation to determine suitability for respirator use prior to employment.
