About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Specialist I to join our team at Kansas City Kansas Community College. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the physical infrastructure of our campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Routine Maintenance Tasks: Conduct regular checks and maintenance tasks to ensure campus facilities remain safe and functional.
  • Respond to Helpdesk Tickets: Respond to college-wide helpdesk tickets, prioritizing issues based on urgency and impact.
  • Assist with Special Projects: Participate in special projects, such as remodels and renovations, and address safety concerns on campus as needed.
  • Maintain Electronic Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records related to preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with colleagues across departments to achieve common goals and objectives.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in building maintenance or construction field; two years of experience with sheetrock, painting, and interior wall construction required.
  • Skillset: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Work Schedule and Environment

This is a full-time position with a variable schedule, including evening and weekend hours. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
