We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Psychologist to join our team at the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. As a Licensed Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to a team of psychologists and managing their clinical duties. You will also provide a full range of evidenced-informed psychological services, including training and consultation services to clinical teams, direct support staff, individuals, and management as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain knowledge and understanding of OPWDD policies and procedures.
- Attend licensed psychologist planning meetings to discuss and attend to psychology department needs.
- Provide clinical supervision to master's level psychologists.
- Participate in local and statewide committees such as Human Rights Committee, Informed Consent Committee, Local Forensic Advisory Committee, and Statewide Forensic Advisory Committee.
- Develop department trainings and facilitate workgroups as needed.
- Assist the Chief and Principal Psychologists with reviewing and processing psychology department requests.
- Conduct various psychological assessments, including intelligence, adaptive behavior, and risk mitigation assessments.
- Attend and participate in psychology department meetings.
- Foster effective collaboration and communication with individuals, families, and Care Coordination Organizations.
- Provide counseling services as needed, including group and individual counseling through the Article 16 clinic.
- Travel to programs and sites as required.
- Provide direct psychology coverage as needed due to vacancies.
- Have proficient computer skills, including use of databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft products such as Word, TEAMS, and SharePoint.
- Must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Licensed Psychologist in New York State.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to travel to programs and sites as required.
