Job Purpose:
Oversee the essential utility systems at the facility, utilizing principles of reliability-centered maintenance to fulfill production requirements while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal procedures. Responsibilities encompass the administration, development, execution, integration, and continuous operation of critical utility systems (including Plant Steam, Clean Steam, Chillers, Oil-Free Air, WFI, Hot Water, HVAC, and Building Management Systems) as part of a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program that covers all facility and process-related equipment and services. This role also entails managing the daily operations associated with the Energy Management Program and Environmental Monitoring initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee the Facilities Maintenance Program, ensuring strict compliance with established policies and guidelines. Provide essential support to production and facility teams to address compliance matters and ensure equipment is maintained for optimal reliability and longevity. Collaborate proactively with engineering teams to identify long-term equipment replacement needs. Develop and implement modifications to the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure comprehensive compliance. Prepare and manage departmental budgets for the Facilities Maintenance division, including the Preventive Maintenance program, while maintaining costs within budgetary constraints. Identify and oversee capital investment requirements for equipment replacement. Direct, manage, and coordinate the activities of both exempt and non-exempt personnel. Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to staff regarding company policies, objectives, and goals. Maintain an adequate workforce to meet current demands and plan for future departmental needs. Manage daily operations related to the Energy Management Program. Oversee the HEPA Recertification Program. Manage daily activities associated with the Building Management Systems and Environmental Monitoring Systems. Weekend work may be necessary.Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of management experience within a technical environment. At least five years of experience in a maintenance or engineering setting, demonstrating strong communication skills, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate the complexities of the role. Must possess a thorough understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as they pertain to pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, along with demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical facilities, equipment, and utilities, including their design, installation, and operation.Skills:
Solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices, with demonstrated experience in preventive maintenance. Proficient in technical writing and possess excellent communication skills relevant to a manufacturing context. Stay updated with the latest advancements in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities. Computer literate. In-depth knowledge of cGMP as it relates to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Proven expertise in pharmaceutical facilities, equipment, and utilities, including their design, installation, and operation. Demonstrated ability to apply project management techniques and tools in overseeing multiple engineering projects.
