As an Optical Systems Engineer, your primary focus will be on the design and development of cutting-edge optical imaging systems for one of our most promising new initiatives in the environmental devices arena. You will leverage your expertise in optics engineering, contribute to our growth, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to incorporate optical systems into broader projects and products.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and developing sophisticated optical imaging systems, including lenses and optical components, utilizing Zemax OpticStudio.
  • Conducting optical modeling and ray tracing to assess and enhance system performance.
  • Engaging in digital holographic microscopy projects, encompassing system design and data interpretation.
  • Executing experiments and prototype testing to validate optical designs and performance metrics.
  • Collaborating across departments to integrate optical systems into larger initiatives and products.
  • Documenting design methodologies, experimental outcomes, and technical insights in comprehensive reports.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in optical engineering, particularly in imaging systems and lens design.
  • Expertise in Zemax OpticStudio for optical design and analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of ray tracing techniques and optical system modeling.
  • Experience in holography, especially digital holographic microscopy, is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with optical testing and metrology techniques.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with additional optical design software (e.g., Code V, LightTool, Zemax OpticStudio).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
  • Understanding of optical fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of related fields such as photonics, laser systems, and biomedical optics.
