The University of Tennessee Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing staff in our hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Perform direct patient care activities, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
- Monitor and report changes in patient vital signs, physical, and mental condition to the Registered Nurse.
- Provide personal care assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, drinking, oral care, elimination, and transportation.
- Assist Registered Nurses with skin care, including repositioning, wound cleaning, and pressure ulcer prevention.
- Demonstrate effective patient transfer techniques and respond to emergency situations or unplanned events.
Requirements:
- Current nursing student in an accredited program, eligible to participate in clinicals in a hospital setting.
- Completion of the first year of clinicals and fundamentals.
