Job Summary

MERS Goodwill is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Donation Attendant to join our Fenton Store team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling donations with care, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop-off, and offering thanks and any donation incentives and tax receipts.
  • Handle all donations with care and respect.
  • Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, according to established guidelines.
  • Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
  • Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
  • Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
  • Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
  • Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation and contribute to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
  • Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
  • Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
  • Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
