Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at GFL Environmental, a leading waste management company in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining our fleet of vehicles and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to resolve complex mechanical issues
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices for diesel engine maintenance and repair

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic; experience in the waste management industry an asset
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and related systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
