Key Responsibilities
- Foster a welcoming customer service atmosphere in the reception area.
- Engage professionally with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
- Handle phone inquiries and messages in a timely and accurate manner.
- Adhere to departmental protocols for patient triage and scheduling.
- Conduct patient interviews and pre-registration processes.
- Input patient data into the billing system accurately.
- Ensure proper coding of visits.
- Identify and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Contribute to financial goals by collecting payments effectively.
- Prepare cash sheets and manage daily cash transactions.
- Assist in reducing organizational expenses.
- Schedule patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Aid patients in accessing specialized care and diagnostic testing.
- Coordinate referrals and secure timely authorizations.
- Support initiatives aimed at performance enhancement.
- Maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
- Serve as a mentor for new employees and interns.
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an outpatient office setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare coverage.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances
- Pennsylvania Act 34 Criminal History Clearance.
Work Environment
Personal protective equipment such as goggles, face shields, and masks are mandated in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Physical Requirements
The position entails various physical activities including bending, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting.
