We are seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at the Public Health Trust of Dade Co. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of expertise and professionalism in the administration of anesthesia.
Key Responsibilities- Administer anesthesia under medical direction for diversified surgical cases, utilizing inhalation, intravenous, spinal or rectal agents.
- Participate in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation of patients, formulating a patient-specific plan for anesthesia care in collaboration with attending anesthesiologists.
- Implement, monitor, and adjust patients' physiologic condition as appropriate for the type of anesthesia and specific patients' needs.
- Recognize abnormal patient response to anesthesia and adjunct medications, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
- Provide observation, monitoring, and resuscitation of patients in route to the recovery room or to a special care unit according to protocol.
- Transfer the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Master's degree in Nursing is required.
- Valid Florida licensed RN/CRNA or eligibility for licensure as CRNA/Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.
- National Board Certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
This position requires the ability to function in a fast-paced environment with occasional high-pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population, including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies, and other members of the public. The job is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Exposure to various environments, such as communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment.
