Vascular Imaging Specialist

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of a radiologist, the Vascular Imaging Specialist employs advanced ultrasound technology to conduct comprehensive vascular assessments, generating diagnostic images essential for medical evaluations and interventional procedures.
Demonstrates sound judgment in determining necessary measurements for the examination area and manages all computer processing associated with ultrasound imaging; provides patient care and education throughout the imaging process.
May serve as a mentor to junior vascular imaging specialists.Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts vascular ultrasound examinations including Carotid Duplex Ultrasounds, Pulse Volume Recordings, Peripheral Vascular Arterial studies, and Peripheral Vascular Venous Studies.
- Performs echocardiograms in accordance with established protocols as directed by the laboratory.
- Educates patients about procedures to ensure cooperation and optimal test outcomes.
- Adheres to safety protocols while operating diagnostic equipment.
- Utilizes and maximizes the functionality of all software applications, including PACS and echocardiographic reporting systems.
- Maintains ultrasound and laboratory equipment, ensuring all tools and examination areas are in proper working order.
- Completes additional technologist duties as assigned by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager, particularly those related to quality assurance and control.
Responsible for fulfilling continuing education requirements necessary for licensure and professional role.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited RDMS program or possession of a current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cardiac sonographer, with at least one (1) year of vascular experience.
As this role involves regular interaction with children in care, guidance, supervision, or training, compliance with the Child Protective Services Act is mandatory, including the completion of background checks.
Covid Vaccination is a prerequisite for employment within clinical entities.
