- Transport Materials: The Commercial Driver will transport materials, livestock, and other goods to intended destinations, ensuring that the shipment load matches the manifest document.
- Secure Shipment Contents: The Commercial Driver will secure shipment contents to prevent damage or injury, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Obtain Signatures: The Commercial Driver will obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Map Driving Routes: The Commercial Driver will map driving routes and follow predetermined routes, using GPS and other routing systems to optimize delivery times.
- Communicate with Dispatch: The Commercial Driver will communicate with dispatch as needed, providing updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.
- Perform Vehicle Inspections: The Commercial Driver will perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, ensuring that the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Check Weather Conditions: The Commercial Driver will check weather conditions and road reports before departure, adjusting routes and schedules as necessary.
- Maintain Cleanliness: The Commercial Driver will maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, performing service as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Notify Managers: The Commercial Driver will notify managers of any significant maintenance or delivery issues encountered, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to resolve the issue.
- Follow Delivery Schedule: The Commercial Driver will follow the delivery schedule, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain Detailed Logs: The Commercial Driver will maintain detailed driving and delivery logs, tracking working hours and other relevant information.
- Essential Qualifications: The Commercial Driver must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), and 3+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Clean Driving Record: The Commercial Driver must have a clean driving record with no moving violations, and must pass a background check, drug test, and hair follicle test.
- Ability to Drive Standard Shift: The Commercial Driver must be able to drive a standard shift - no automatics available.
- Good Background: The Commercial Driver must have a good background (DISA 2 or Lower), and must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
- CDL A or B with Tanker Endorsement: The Commercial Driver must have a CDL A or B with tanker endorsement, and must be able to operate a 70 BBL Liquid Vac and Combo Rig (Jet Rodder).
- Able to Read Sewer Prints: The Commercial Driver must be able to read sewer prints, and must be self-sufficient.
- Comfortable with Long-Haul Transport: The Commercial Driver must be comfortable with long-haul transport, and must have a high level of composure and good stress management.
- Skilled at Driving and Parking Large Vehicles: The Commercial Driver must be skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles.
- Ability to Lift Up to 50 lbs: The Commercial Driver must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Great Physical Stamina: The Commercial Driver must possess great physical stamina and focus during driving shifts.
- Able to Operate Electric Lift: The Commercial Driver must be able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
- Proficient in Using GPS: The Commercial Driver must be proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.
- Map Reading and Route Planning Experience: The Commercial Driver must have map reading and route planning experience.
- Self-Starter: The Commercial Driver must be a self-starter who works well independently.
- Disciplined, Dependable, and Resourceful: The Commercial Driver must be disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
