ProCare Therapy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team in a school-based setting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing students' visual needs and developing tailored educational plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' visual needs and develop individualized educational plans to ensure they receive the necessary support.
- Instruction and Support: Provide instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and adaptive technology to students, as well as collaborate with teachers and staff to modify curriculum and provide accommodations.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to ensure students receive the necessary support and accommodations.
- Record Keeping and Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure students are meeting their educational goals.
- TVI Certification: Must hold a valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Blind/Visually Impaired.
- Experience: Minimum 1+ years of experience working with visually impaired students.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check.
