PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Your role will involve managing mortgage loan applications and preparing all necessary documentation for loan closings while offering continuous support to the mortgage loan manager.

You will also be responsible for the processing, documentation, preparation, closing, and disbursement of both in-house and secondary market mortgage loans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing mortgage loan applications, which includes ordering appraisals, flood certifications, credit reports, title work, Verification of Employment (VOEs), and Verification of Deposit (VODs). Completing disclosures in accordance with RESPA guidelines.

Preparation of loan closing documents, including Truth-in-Lending disclosures, HUD-1 settlement statements, notes, mortgages, and other relevant documents.


Identifying member needs and providing information on how the Credit Union's offerings can fulfill those needs.


Posting closing entries for mortgage loans, packaging and selling loans for secondary market funding, and completing files for both in-house and secondary market loans.

This position also serves as a backup for balancing mortgage loan general ledgers and FICS sweep.


Additional duties as required, including but not limited to, providing rates and program information to real estate agencies, assisting with homeowner's insurance payments and real estate taxes for escrow account holders, documenting homeowner's insurance coverage for each first holder with SIU Credit Union as the lien holder, and staying informed on all security procedures and applicable regulations to ensure compliance.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*High School Diploma and Bondability required.
*Experience with loan documentation and familiarity with general ledgers preferred.
*Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
*Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with members, staff, and management.
*Typing speed of 35 WPM and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based applications.
