Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our team at Coherent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated systems for various industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical engineering assemblies, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD and/or detailed drawings/specifications.
  • Select and specify electrical components, including stage motors, power supplies, sensors, relays, and various controllers.
  • Layout and review system designs with customers, and generate necessary schematic drawings for system assembly and wiring.
  • Work with technicians to manage system assembly and modify designs as needed.
  • Coordinate procurement and assembly of electrical/electronic components/equipment, and identify sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.
  • Support production lines and troubleshoot electrical failures in automated process systems.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in automated process and test systems development.
  • BS/MS degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with small tooling fixture design and laser technology is preferred.
  • Experience with semi-automated and automated processing systems, Microsoft Office, and wafer bar level or die level handling.
  • Meticulous and thorough, with excellent design documentation skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English is required.
  • Integrity and self-motivation, with ability to work in fast-paced team and independent setting.
Working Conditions:

Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, carrying out multiple projects at a time. Occasional travel may be required to customer sites for system transfer or support.

Physical Requirements:

Able to work in clean room environment when needed.
